Mr. Wright is a partner in the Litigation Department and a member of the Life, Health and Disability and Insurance Fraud Practice Groups. He is also Managing Partner of the Firm's Paramus, New Jersey and New York, New York offices. He has been a trial attorney for the past 23 years and has extensive jury trial experience in the areas of disability law, insurance coverage, medical malpractice, commercial disputes, health care, insurance fraud and general litigation.
Mr. Wright has litigated many disability, ERISA and coverage cases resulting in industry favorable appellate decisions including the groundbreaking "Prior Manifestation" Doctrine adopted by the New Jersey Supreme Court in Haas v Paul Revere Life Insurance Company. He has lectured at the Eastern Claims Conference, New Jersey State Bar Convention and the American Conference Institute. He has been recognized by the Paul Revere Life Insurance Company and UnumProvident for extraordinary service. Mr. Wright's health care practice includes two terms as Council to the Medical Staff of Hackensack University Medical Center. In 2004, he was elected a New Jersey SuperLawyer.
Mr. Wright received his B.A., magna cum laude, in Literature and Communications in 1977 from Marquette University. He received his J.D. degree from the Marquette University School of Law in 1980. Mr. Wright is licensed to practice in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia, and is admitted to appear before the Supreme Court of the United States of America, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.
Mr. Wright is a member of the American Bar Association (Section on Life, Health and Disability), Federal Bar Council (Second Circuit), Association of the Federal Bar of the State of New Jersey, Defense Research Institute, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. His extensive pro bono activities include Justice Robert L. Clifford American Inn of Court (Program Chair), New Jersey Supreme Court District IIA Fee Arbitration Committee Chairman, and attorney volunteer for victims of September 11th tragedy through Trial Lawyers Care. His community service includes the Don Bosco Prep High School Board of Trustees. Mr. Wright has been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system.
