Austin Manes’ practice focuses on civil litigation, with an emphasis on complex commercial litigation, business and contractual disputes, insurance bad faith, attorney malpractice, and torts. Austin also has significant appellate experience before the state and federal courts of appeals and various administrative bodies of the federal government.
Austin’s past experience includes work in the chambers of the Honorable John T. Noonan, Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, as well as in the chambers of the Honorable A. James Robertson, II of the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco.
Austin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He received his Juris Doctor from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, California.
Austin is currently licensed to practice before all courts of the State of California, all U.S. District Courts in the State of California, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Prior to his legal career, Austin served a distinguished four-year enlistment in the United States Army. An infantry team leader, Austin had the distinct honor of being selected as a Sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. He was decorated twice for exceptionally meritorious service and achievement during this time.
