Mr. Valentine concentrates his practice in the areas of civil litigation, insurance defense and business litigation. He has represented clients in the prosecution and defense of claims involving major construction site accidents, construction contract disputes, negligent security, products liability, medical and dental malpractice, premises liability, motor vehicle liability, liquor liability, employment liability, worker's compensation and general liability.

Mr. Valentine has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict before juries and the bench in Massachusetts state and federal courts, has argued before the Massachusetts Court of Appeals and has appeared before various administrative agencies. He has represented clients in numerous matters tried before arbitrators, including in private arbitration and compulsory inter-company arbitration, and has extensive experience in the mediation of cases. Mr. Valentine also has handled subrogation recovery matters throughout New England, including investigation and expert consultation at the outset of claims.

Mr. Valentine was graduated from Columbia University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. While at Columbia, Mr. Valentine was awarded the Class of 1913 Cup for Academic Excellence and the Class of 1926 Prize for Contribution to Campus Life, and was named to the 1973 and 1974 All-Ivy Football Teams. Mr. Valentine received his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School and in 1979 was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States Tax Court. In 1988, Mr. Valentine was admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Valentine has participated in and facilitated numerous professional seminars and courses, including an intensive Negotiation Workshop at the Harvard Law School Program of Instruction for Lawyers, as well as seminars concentrating in construction law, construction site accidents, OSHA regulations and compliance, products liability, medical malpractice, alternative dispute resolution and litigation management. Mr. Valentine has completed NITA trial advocacy courses at Boston University Law School and in-house at St. Paul Travelers Insurance Company during his tenure as Senior Trial Attorney. In 1997, Mr. Valentine was bestowed the Chairman's Award by St. Paul in recognition of his efforts to further corporate diversity and mentorship. Mr. Valentine also has presided as a volunteer pretrial conferencer at the Boston Municipal Court.

Mr. Valentine has been a member of the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association. Mr. Valentine is active in various community organizations and alumni associations.

Mr. Valentine's experience and reputation among trial lawyers has earned him an AV rating from Martindale-Hubble, the highest rating possible.
