Prior to joining Jones Day in 2011, Dave handled bet-your-company matters that are among the most cutting edge, high-profile, and dollar-intensive — from the Coordinated Asbestos Insurance Proceeding (reputed to be the largest judicial proceeding ever in California) to seminal environmental coverage matters involving FMC, Southern Pacific, Montgomery Ward, and SoCal Gas to insurance representation of WorldCom in its bankruptcy proceedings.

Dave is repeatedly named among the premier worldwide insurance recovery practitioners in such publications as Chambers USA, Guide to the World's Leading Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyers, Who's Who Legal, and The Best Lawyers in America.

Dave is a member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, and Los Angeles County Bar Foundation (board of directors, 1998-2004). He is also active in community service.

Dave has spoken and written about numerous matters regarding insurance such as coverage during business interruptions as a result of unforeseen economic circumstances, insurance coverage issues in merger and acquisition transactions, environmental and hazardous product claims, and insurance coverage issues applicable to mass tort claims.
