Mr. Bertini graduated from Vanderbilt University and received his law degree from the University of Houston. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas. Mr. Bertini also has a Certificate to Mediate.
Mr. Bertini has handled cases throughout the State of Texas in both State and Federal courts. He has also represented clients in administrative hearings, arbitrations and mediations. The types of cases he has handled include personal injury cases, maritime matters, professional malpractice, commercial litigation, probate litigation, real estate, residential and construction litigation and general litigation matters. He has advised many businesses and non-profit organizations in the area of mechanic liens, business formations and contract negotiations. Mr. Bertini also handles natural disaster litigation including the litigation following Hurricane Ike that struck the Gulf Coast on September 13, 2008.
Mr. Bertini is a frequent speaker. He has spoken to the Texas Dental Association, the Texas Association of Legal Assistants, the Houston Claims Association, the Louisiana of Defense Counsel, Galveston County Bar Association and other organizations.
Mr. Bertini has been very active in civic and charitable organizations. He was appointed by two mayors of Galveston to serve the Galveston Housing Authority and served as its chairman for many years. He was President of the Rotary Club of Galveston Island and is Paul Harris Fellow. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Knights of Momus; Galveston's oldest and largest Mardi Gras Krewe and served as its President in 2005 - 2006. Other community service includes service on the Board of Directors of the Galveston Resource and Crisis Center; Executive Board of the Galveston Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the Board of the Galveston Community Development Corporation; service on the Mayor of Galveston's Housing Task Force; Texas Department of Transportation - Bolivar Bridge Stakeholder Advisory Task Force.
Mr. Bertini has been a volunteer with the Boy Scouts, chairing their Friends of Scouting Campaign in 2001 and 2003, a volunteer coach with the Galveston Island Little League and he is a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus.
