I have been practicing law since 1997. I am licensed in the States of Illinois and Alaska and have been admitted to practice law in more than one federal jurisdiction. For the vast majority of my legal years I have been involved in highly contentious and highly complex litigation. I have a reputation for out-of-the-box approaches and out-of-the-box solutions to difficult problems. My practice currently predominately consists of highly contested or difficult custody issues between parents and/or relatives or the State. I represent parties on all sides of the issues. I have been specializing in these types of custody cases for the past eight years. I also continue to represent clients accused of criminal wrong doing either in divorce/custody cases, civil domestic violence proceedings, or criminal cases. In many instances I represent a client in all three of those areas. I have been practicing criminal law for fifteen years with experience in both state and federal courts. I have a strong background in constitutional law. In addition to the practice areas above, I have been successfully representing and protecting juvenile clients in a wide range of areas for the past twelve years.
