Scott, John R.

Sophia E. C. Schwartz is an associate with Donahue Gallagher Woods LLP.  She is a member of the firm’s business and corporate, civil litigation, and intellectual property practice groups.

Ms. Schwartz earned her law degree magna cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2010.  During law school she was a Senior Article’s Editor for the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review, and a Teaching Assistant in Legal Writing & Research, and Moot Court.  Ms. Schwartz received an honorable mention award for Best Brief in Moot Court, as well as CALI-Excellence for the Future and Witkin awards in Legal Writing and Research, Constitution of the Family, and Environmental Law.  During her last semester in law school, she was a Mediation Extern for the California Courts of Appeal First District Mediation Program.

Ms. Schwartz earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction from the University of California at Berkeley, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Music.  During her final year at U.C. Berkeley, she was the director of Cal in the Capital, a student-managed internship program that prepares students for internships in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Schwartz is a member of the State Bar of California and the Alameda County Bar Association.  She is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  She was born and raised in Sebastopol, California.
