Haley Schaffer is a partner in Maslon's Litigation Group and member of Maslon's Appellate Practice Group. She has represented local and national clients in a wide range of high-stakes business disputes in state and federal courts throughout the country. Haley has particular expertise in ownership and governance disputes in corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. She also concentrates on various aspects of intellectual property disputes, including licensing, trade secrets, unfair competition, trademark, patent, and royalty-related cases. Additionally, Haley has significant appellate practice experience.
Haley has repeatedly received state-wide recognition for her litigation and appellate skills, and has been selected for inclusion on the Rising Stars® list from 2005-2012. She also frequently presents to the Minnesota Bar on a wide range of civil litigation and appellate topics and publishes regularly on these topics, including co-authoring two chapters in the recent Eighth Circuit Appellate Practice Manual and authoring the "Notes and Trends" column in the Civil Litigation section of Bench & Bar of Minnesota.
Prior to joining Maslon, Haley completed a clerkship for the Honorable David S. Doty of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Haley received her law degree, cum laude, from Northwestern University Law School, where she was a member of Northwestern's law review. She also is a member of the Order of the Coif and a recipient of the Bell, Boyd & Lloyd Appellate Advocacy Award. She received her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Princeton University.
