Rogers, Jill L.

Jill is an Arizona native, having attended Meyer Elementary School, Connolly Junior High School and McClintock High School, all in the same neighborhood in Tempe, Arizona.  While in high school, Jill was a foreign exchange student in Colombia, South America.  Jill started off her college career at the University of Arizona but returned to Arizona State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1989 with a B.S. in Psychology. Thereafter, Jill attended a Masters Program in Marriage and Family Therapy at Arizona State University where she completed an A.A.M.F.T. one-year clinical practicum. 

After working for some time in the marriage and family counseling field, Jill switched gears and began working in the legal field as a family law paralegal.  After eight years of working in this capacity, Jill attended law school at Arizona State University.  While attending law school full-time, as a single mother with a toddler, Jill continued to work part-time at Udall, Shumway and Lyons, while earning an honors’ designation in Legal Research and Writing and becoming an Associate Managing Editor on the Arizona State Law Journal.  Jill was also a Pedrick Scholar in law school and completed an internship with Judge Ditsworth, a Superior Court judge on the family law bench.

Upon graduation from law school in 2003, Jill continued to work at Udall, Shumway and Lyons, being mentored by two family law certified specialists, Barry C. Dickerson and Steven H. Everts.  Thereafter, Jill worked at Cantor Simon, the Law Offices of Michael Shew, and Rowley Chapman Barney & Buntrock before settling in here at Wilson-Goodman Law Group, PLLC.

In 2009, Jill received the “For Love of Justice Pro Bono Award” and was named the “Attorney of the Year – East Valley” for Family Lawyers Assistance Project.  Jill’s educational background, work and volunteer experience offer a unique perspective and solid foundation for her work in the area of Family Law.  Jill offers her clients a high level of professionalism, compassion and understanding of the emotional issues involved in all areas of family law.  While Jill recognizes the emotional and financial benefits in settling matters when it is in a client’s best interest, she is also skilled in the courtroom and is committed to being prepared in presenting a case to the Court.

When Jill is not working, she enjoys hanging out with her teenage son, watching him play sports, and spending time with her three Shih-Tzus.  Jill has extended family residing close by and enjoys time with them as well.  Jill is an avid reader, a news junkie and is also a fan of reality-based television programs like American Idol and the Bachelor.
