Nicholas Rodríguez's practice involves U.S. and Latin American cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, restructuring, and capital market transactions, including recent matters in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and the Dominican Republic.
He has represented public and private entities, including Abbeyfield Group, Citigroup Global Markets, General Electric, Grameen Trust, Intelligroup, Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A., IXE Banco S.A., and IXE Grupo Financiero.
Prior to joining Jones Day in 2008, Nicholas advised Advent International in its acquisition of the largest airport operator group in the Dominican Republic, which was recognized by the International Financial Law Review as the 2008 Private Equity Deal of the Year for the Americas. He also clerked for U.S. District Court Judges Oliver Wanger (Eastern District of California) and Kenneth Hoyt (Southern District of Texas).
Nicholas is a member of the New York City Bar's International Business Transactions Committee and a member of the New York State Bar Association. He has participated as a speaker at public interest conferences sponsored by the Cyrus R. Vance Center of International Justice held in Bogota, Chile and New York. Nicholas is a member of the board of directors of the Hispanic Federation, a nonprofit membership organization serving approximately 100 Latino health and human service agencies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. He was born in Medellin, Colombia and is fluent in Spanish.
