Mr. Phillips has been in private practice, focusing on litigation corporate law, and commercial law, and healthcare law, for twenty years and has practiced in Schuylkill County for over a decade. Mr. Phillips has spent a significant portion of his legal career as an in-house attorney providing litigation services for an international network of corporations emphasizing the delivery of healthcare services. Additionally, Mr. Phillips has been active in complex corporate and commercial litigation, sophisticated corporate transactions and contracts, appellate practice, real estate, and corporate counseling. He has represented individual, corporate, college, and municipal clients in varied lawsuits involving diverse issues including healthcare, catastrophic personal injury, breach of contract, negligence, trade secrets, higher education law, fraud, employment discrimination, governmental regulatory matters, and real estate. Mr. Phillips joins the firm after having served as a partner at Williamson, Friedberg & Jones, LLC, Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
Throughout his career, Mr. Phillips has appeared regularly in the Court of Common Pleas, Federal District Courts, State and Federal Appellate Courts, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, and private and judicial arbitration and mediation.
Mr. Phillips received his Juris Doctor in 1989 from the University of Chicago Law School. Before that, he attended the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in American Civilization and graduated cum laude with Distinction in his major.
Mr. Phillips is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, and numerous federal courts at both the trial and appellate level. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the District of Columbia Bar.
