Carl A. Ecklund, a partner in the firm, concentrates his practice in Commercial and Residential Real Estate Law and Business and Corporate Law. He practices out of the firm's Rockford office and is licensed in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Mr. Ecklund represents individuals, and all types of legal entities in matters involving commercial and residential real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, construction and term loan financing. In addition, Carl has significant experience with land use and development issues including annexation, subdivision, zoning, restrictive covenants, and appearances before governmental bodies and commissions.
Carl is regularly involved in establishing, maintaining, and advising all types of legal entities including corporations, limited liability companies, and other business organizations. In addition, he represents both for profit and not-for-profit entities serving as borrower's counsel for bond financings, including industrial revenue bonds and financing through Rural Development and the Illinois Housing Development Authority.
Mr. Ecklund is a member of the American Bar Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, and the Winnebago County Bar Association where he is a member of the Real Estate Section.
Carl currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Mill, a not-for-profit organization that seeks to help and serve abused, neglected, and at-risk youth. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurses Association.
A Rockford native, Carl graduated in 1987, cum laude, from Wheaton College. In 1990, he graduated cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School. He joined WilliamsMcCarthy following his graduation in 1990.
