Admitted to practice before the Florida courts and the Federal court for the Middle District of Florida, Mr. Newman's legal focus areas include Aviation Law, Premises Liability, and Products Liability Claims. He has represented clients in aviation-related claims arising in Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, Connecticut and Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Newman graduated with a degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina. He began practicing with our firm after receiving his Juris Doctorate with honors from the Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Newman is an FAA-licensed airplane and helicopter pilot, an adjunct Aviation Law Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is also a 17-year veteran Reserve Police Officer of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, serving six years in the department's aviation unit, flying hundreds of hours performing search and rescue, drug interdiction, aerial surveillance and prisoner extradition missions. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Newman worked as a photo-journalist for The State newspaper in Columbia, S.C. and The Florida Times Union newspaper in Jacksonville. A fourth generation jeweler prior to his practice of the law, Mr. Newman received a graduate degree in Gemology from the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica, California.
Mr. Newman is active in both professional and civic organizations. His memberships include: The Florida Bar; The Association of Trial Lawyers of America; The Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association; Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers; Airplane Owners and Pilots' Association; Airborne Law Enforcement Officer's Association; Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5-30A; The 200 Club of Jacksonville; Wesconnett #297, F. & A.M. Mr. Newman is also a published author. His publications include: The Bear's World, Remedy for the Blues and The Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968; Florida Coastal School of Law.
Mr. Newman was born in Jacksonville, Florida, is married and has one son
