STEPHEN A. YODER is Of Counsel in the Birmingham office, where he works with members of the Financial Services Practice Group.

Prior to joining Balch & Bingham, Mr. Yoder was senior executive vice president of AmSouth Bank where his duties included legal, regulatory and risk management. He also served as assistant general counsel at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh and was a partner specializing in banking and corporate matters at the Reed Smith LLP law firm.

Mr. Yoder is currently the chairman of the board of the EyeSight Foundation of Alabama and also serves on the governing body of the Railroad Park Foundation. He was the founding chairman of Vulcan Park Foundation.

He is also an assistant professor at the School of Business of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he teaches corporate governance, leadership and the legal environment of business and directs the School's honors program.
