I am from New Philadelphia, Ohio (home of the 'Fighting Quakers' - yes, really), where I graduated from New Phila High School. I graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Political Science and with wicked chemistry lab skills. I worked in Kent, Ohio, at the Smithers-Oasis Company, doing research & development in floral foams and plant care products and then at the BFGoodrich R&D Center at Brecksville, Ohio. While working full time at Goodrich, I attended the University of Akron's law school and obtained a J.D. shortly after leaving to set up my practice in Bath, Ohio. After moving my office into the city of Akron, I worked part time as the pro bono programs coordinator for Western Reserve Legal Services. My program was able to provide over $350,000 of free legal services to indigent clients per year on a $62,000 budget. Moving to Wisconsin with my wife in 1991, I started all over again with offices in Manitowoc. In 1994, I began to work in the area of Chapter 7 bankruptcies and have consistently built that practice that, today, includes Chapter 13 consumer reorganizations and small business liquidations. I live in rural Manitowoc County with my wife, our teenage daughter, and far too many critters.
