Charles received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989 from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor degree from Baylor University School of Law in 1992. He is a member of the Texas Land Title Association, the Texas Association of Realtors (Affiliate member), the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, and the James Wallenstein "breakfast discussion group", a group of over 250 real estate attorneys that have been meeting to discuss topics of interest in commercial real estate for over 25 years.
Charles serves as counsel to the Collin County Association of Realtors, and is a member of the Broker / Lawyer Committee of the Texas Real Estate Commission ("TREC"), which committee drafts, amends, and advises the Commission on all real estate contract forms promulgated for use by real estate agents in the State of Texas. Charles is a TREC-certified instructor and regularly creates and teaches real estate classes to title escrow officers, real estate licensees and brokers, and others in the field of real estate.
