The best lawyer for you is not necessarily the one who just says what you want to hear. He is the one who explains the law and how it applies to your situation, and tells you what you can reasonably expect, in or out of court. The best attorney explains the “cost” (in dollars, time, and stress) of pursuing your legal matter. He then lays out the strategic plan tailored to your particular case. You, the client, can then make an informed decision.
