Grant Garber has litigation experience involving commercial, consumer credit, and securities matters in both state and federal courts. He also regularly represents natural gas and electric utilities as part of the Firm's Ohio energy practice, and he has significant experience in complaint cases brought by residential and commercial customers, rate cases and other regulatory proceedings, and appeals of energy-related matters. Grant has taken and defended depositions, argued motion hearings in federal courts, and assisted in the preparation of dispositive and discovery motions and appellate briefs.
Grant actively participates in the Firm's pro bono practice. He successfully briefed and argued a Sixth Circuit appeal involving the federal sentencing guidelines and successfully represented the client during resentencing. He was a co-recipient of the Legal Aid Society of Columbus' 2007 Pro Bono Award for his representation of an indigent tenant in the Pro Bono Tenant's Advocacy Project. He has served as a guardian ad litem and successfully represented an Iraqi woman and her son in their application for asylum in the United States.
Grant also coaches a local high school mock trial team.
