Jean Pendleton is an attorney who has been practicing law state-wide since 1989 and practices primarily in trial law.  Jean is a member in good standing of The American Trial Lawyers Association and has met the standard of excellence for selection to the Top 100 Trial Lawyers.Jean graduated magna cum laude from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, and third in her class from University of South Dakota School of Law. In addition, Jean was a Thomas Sterling Honor Society recipient, signifying her rank in the top 10% of her law school class, and received the Order of Barristers Advocacy Award.

Upon graduation from law school in 1988, Jean clerked for Iowa Supreme Court Justice Jerry L. Larson. Since then, Jean has been privileged to practice with the Nyemaster Law Firm in Des Moines, Iowa; Charnetski, Olsen, Lacina & Pendleton in Grinnell, Iowa; and most recently, Pingel & Templer, P.C. in West Des Moines. She founded Pendleton Law Firm, P.C. in 2003, and is privileged to practice law with Karin Zeigler and Nicholas Herbold, her son.

Jean is proud to be a fourth-generation attorney in the State of Iowa. Her great-grandfather, Isaac Pendleton, was one of the pioneer settlers of Northwest Iowa and practiced law in Sioux City from 1858 until his death in 1896. He also served as an early Iowa district court judge, shortly after Iowa's attainment of statehood. Jean's grandfather, Edmund Pendleton, was also a well-known attorney in Sioux City for many years. Jean's father, Donald M. Pendleton, joined his father Edmund in the practice of law in 1940, and was appointed district court judge in the Third Judicial District of Iowa in 1965, serving in that capacity until his retirement from the bench in 1982.
