I graduated from McGill University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and from the University of Toronto in 1995 with a law degree. Since 1996 I have been a member of the Bar and practiced law in British Columbia.
I spent the first few years of my career with two national Canadian law firms as a corporate finance lawyer. In 2004, I formed my own law firm and shifted my focus to trial and appellate advocacy, and have represented clients in numerous cases in the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the Court of Appeal.
My criminal defence practice has varied from representing clients in kidnapping, extortion and spousal assault cases to evading duties, illegal importation of goods, and smuggling under the Customs Act.
My law practice is now focused on criminal defence, my first love, so to speak, in law. When people face criminal charges, the stress on them is enormous. Helping them resolve their problems with the law and carry on with their lives gives me a feeling of satisfaction that I have seldom experienced doing other kinds of legal work.
