Anne M. Cogan has practiced law since 1994. Her practice is limited to Family Law issues and some minor real property issues. She also has a realtor's license and uses that professional training and experience with HER Real Living to assist her in the assessment of property values in some family law litigation cases.
She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She attended Capital University Law School and graduated in 1994 with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Attorney Cogan's legal career began as a Law Clerk and then as an Associate in the M. Elizabeth Gill, Attorney at Law firm from May 1992 to January 1997. Attorney Gill is currently a Domestic Relations Judge in Franklin County, Ohio.
Thereafter, in 1995 she obtained a Mediation Certification. Mediation practices are used to assist clients in the resolution of marital issues rather than use of legal litigation to secure consent or agreement. Attorney Cogan began her solo practitioner entity in 1997 and has represented family law clients since that time in a wide variety of divorce, dissolution and other family law matters.
Memberships in professional legal organizations are important for professional growth in legal knowledge and expertise. Attorney Cogan is a member of the Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Board of Realtors. In the past, she has served on the Ohio State Bar Association's Subcommittee for Guardian ad Litem Standards and the Columbus Bar Association's Family Law Committee and Guardian ad Litem subcommittee.
Serving as an active participant in her community has entailed several dimensions. She is a volunteer youth leader and junior high school camp counselor at her church. Among her favorite community support activities are being a regular volunteer at Marmon Valley Farm as well as a trail guide and camp counselor.
