GeorgAnn Hedlesten Oglesby. One of Houston’s outstanding young lawyers, has been selected as a Texas Rising Star, a Thomas Reuters business, published in Texas Monthly magazine from 2010 through 2012. She has also Top Young Professional and Top Lawyer for the People by H Magazine for 2009 through 2012. She was admitted to bar of the State Bar of Texas and the United State District Court, Southern District, in 2004. She is a member in good standing of the American Trial Lawyers Association; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; State Bar of Texas; College of the State Bar of Texas ; Houston Bar Association, Family Law Section; Fort Bend Bar Association, Family Law Section; and Texas Women Lawyers. In addition, she is active in community activities. Oglesby is a wife and mother with a personal insight regarding family law issues.

Oglesby graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Juris Doctorate in 2003 from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. She is a graduate of Texas State University with the Bachelor of Arts in English and Bachelor of Arts in history. She also studied at The Ohio State University.

Oglesby is from a family of experienced lawyers. Following law school, she served an internship with Harris County District Attorney’s office. Hedlesten & Oglesby, LLP was her initial trial law position. In 2008 she opened an independent practice, The Oglesby Law Firm, PLLC. In February of 2012 she and attorney Alice J. O’Neill formed O’Neill & Oglesby, LLP.

She is experienced in courtroom representation and fearlessly speaks out for the rights of children, and for parents who have been misrepresented before the court. She is in demand as a divorce and child custody attorney.
