I was born in Japan and lived in Taiwan until age eight. I then immigrated to the United States and spent the rest of my childhood in southern California. I attended college at the University of California at Berkeley. I served my community and worked my way through college by working for the campus police department. I had a variety of duties there, from patrolling the campus to giving safety presentations to incoming students.
After college, I wanted a career in which I could obtain justice for those who have been wronged. I decided to study law and attended Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Within the first week of law school, I knew that I was going to practice personal injury and professional negligence law and represent only plaintiffs. I proceeded to enroll in every class Georgetown offered on negligence law. I supplemented my education with real world experience by clerking all three years of law school.
Since graduating from law school in 1999, I have only represented personal injury victims and victims of professional malpractice.
I have represented clients throughout California in state and federal courts. I have tried cases to verdict in Bay Area courts as well as in the Central Valley.
In addition to my litigation practice, I volunteer at Oakland Chinatown's legal clinic and provide services to immigrants and indigents. I also serve as an advisor to undergraduate students at Berkeley.
