Richard is licensed to practice law in Oregon in both State and Federal Court. He is also a member of the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, the Multnomah Bar Association, and the Clackamas County Bar Association. Richard was born in Southern California, but grew up in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and Telluride, Colorado before moving to Portland in 2003. Outside of work, Richard can be found watching ice hockey, at the park with his dog, or drinking black tea and reading a book or watching a movie. While in college, Richard worked as an intern for Oregon State Senator Joanne Verger as well as U.S. Congressman Earl Blumenauer. To stay involved in local politics and his local community, Richard serves as a member of the steering committee for State House District 42 of the Multnomah County Democrats. As a partner at McClendon Owens Melia McBreen LLP, Richard focuses exclusively on defending the rights of those accused of crimes by the state and federal government.
