Ryan is a senior associate in the Patent Litigation group in Seattle. He has experience litigating patents in a broad range of technologies, including software, Internet commerce, and Internet advertising. He also has tried copyright cases relating to photography, advertising, and consumer products. Ryan is a former trial lawyer for the federal government. Between that experience and his work at Perkins Coie, Ryan has been a first or second chair counsel in more than 30 jury trials. For his earlier work, Ryan was named the United States Federal Bar Association's Younger Lawyer of the Year in 2001. Outside of his trial work, and before giving up his personal hobbies to help raise three children, Ryan was an avid surfer and soccer player.
