Experience
Janet S. Yavrouian joined Gleason & Favarote LLP as an associate attorney in 2008. Janet currently handles all aspects of labor and employment law including alleged wrongful termination, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, wage claims, unfair labor practice proceedings and unfair competition.
Professional Background
Janet received her law degree from Whittier Law School where she graduated cum laude in 2007. During her tenure there, she was awarded two CALI awards for excellence in writing and was a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship. Janet was also a member of the Whittier Law Journal. Before joining Gleason & Favarote LLP, Janet served as a law clerk in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Prior to working for the District Attorney’s Office, Janet served as a legal extern for the Honorable Judge David McEachen of the Orange County Superior Court where she researched and prepared legal memoranda, observed court proceedings, and assisted in preparing tentative rulings. Additionally, Ms. Yavrouian served as a volunteer for the Worker’s Rights Clinic of the Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, where she provided legal assistance to low-income residents of Los Angeles County who sought assistance in unpaid wage claims, wage garnishments, and other employment disputes. Janet is also fluent in Armenian.
