Mr. Abbey joined the Law Department as Attorney in 1965; became General Counsel in 1969; General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in 1972; Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel 1975 to 1993. Managed Baxter's 65 attorney Law Department. Supervised the Company's government affairs, aviation, security, real estate and corporate services functions. President of the Baxter Foundation, Chairman of the Environmental Review Board and Baxter's Political Action Committee, also a member of the Benefits Administration Committee.
