James A. Yoro's primary areas of practice are in Workers' compensation and social security disability claims. He received his undergraduate and law school degrees at the University of California at Berkeley. Upon graduation, he worked as a staff attorney with Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance. He joined the Chain, Younger law firm as an associate, handling both a civil and criminal trial caseload, in 1982. In 1987, he became a partner with the firm and he now manages the Workers' compensation and social security disability departments full time. In his practice, Mr. Yoro has argued cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Supreme Court (see State Farm v. W.C.A.B/Leonard, 16 CAL. 4th 1187).
Mr. Yoro is a sustaining member of the California Applicant Attorney's Association and the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives. He is also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, Consumer Attorneys of California and the Kern County Bar Association.
Outside of his practice, he has been a past member of the Boards of Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance and Kern Regional Center (an agency that provides services to mentally handicapped and developmentally disabled residents of Kern County).
In his spare time, Mr. Yoro enjoys basketball, tennis and other outdoor sports and participates in local Filipino community activities
