CYNTHIA A. MATHEKE learned her trial skills in the New Jersey State and Federal Public Defender's Offices from 1974 through 1977. As a Partner with Budd, Larner, Gross, Rosenbaum, Greenberg &Sade (1978-1994) and now with the Lum firm, she concentrates her practice on the prosecution of medical malpractice actions and has tried more than 100 medical malpractice actions to verdict. She has also defended physicians and medical product manufacturers for the State of New Jersey, CNA, PPM, OUM. She has also appeared as defense counsel in matters venued in New Jersey involving physicians affiliated with New York University Hospital and Medical Center in New York, New York. She has been teaching trial practice at Rutgers University School of Law since 1989. In 2000, she was awarded the Civil Trial Achievement Award by the Essex County Bar Association. From 2003 to date, she has been included in the top 50 female lawyers in New Jersey by New Jersey Magazine, who also recognized her as a "Super Lawyer" in those same years. From 2005 to date, she has been named a top Personal Injury litigator by New York Magazine. She is an active member of the ABA, is a Certified Civil Trial Attorney, and serves as a Master at the Seton Hall Inn of Court. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.
