Charles was born in Neenah, Wisconsin and grew up in Verona, Wisconsin. Charles earned a degree in English from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. While studying at UW Eau Claire, Charles achieved academic distinction and won the Dagny Midelfort Book Award for Excellence in Latin. Charles graduated cum laude from UW Eau Claire.
Charles attended Marquette University Law School. While in law school, Charles competed in the National Criminal Procedure Tournament in San Diego, California and earned the CALI Award for excellent achievement in the study of trial advocacy.
Charles was admitted to the bars of Wisconsin and Illinois in 2011. That same year he was also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
Charles has been working to assert the rights of Kmiec Law Offices' clients since 2010, when he started at Kmiec Law Offices as a law clerk.
