Hunter Winstead is an associate in the Firm. Hunter’s practice focuses on the resolution of insurance coverage issues for companies facing mass tort liabilities. His experience with bankruptcy litigation has enabled him to counsel and litigate on behalf of organizations involved in or considering a bankruptcy case. His representative engagements include:
Hunter maintains an active pro bono practice at Gilbert LLP. His pro bono engagements have included his representation of a fair housing advocacy organization in litigation regarding compliance with the accessibility requirements of the Fair Housing Act and the Americans With Disabilities Act and his successful negotiation of the reinstatement of wrongfully denied retirement benefits for a client referred by the Whitman-Walker Clinic.
Prior to joining the Firm, Hunter was an associate in the Finance, Financial Services and Bankruptcy practice group at DLA Piper US LLP where he worked from 2003 to 2004. At DLA Piper, Hunter represented financial institutions, commercial lending companies and secured trade creditors in chapter 7 and chapter 11 proceedings, foreclosures and litigation in state and federal courts.
