Ms. Abelson received her B.A. in Political Science from Occidental College and her Juris Doctor from U.C. Davis School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Abelson spent a semester externing in Washington D.C. for the Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights. Ms. Abelson was the senior articles editor for the Journal of Juvenile Law & Policy and participated in the Civil Rights Clinic. During her first and second year of law school, Ms. Abelson was elected to serve as the student government class representative. Ms. Abelson was a King Hall Legal Foundation Grant Recipient for her summer work at Legal Services for Children. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Abelson was a paralegal in the New York City office of DLA Piper, LLP.
