Dave Mahle practices in the areas of general corporate and securities law. He has extensive experience in representing public and private investment companies, including structured investment vehicles, exchange traded funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, and funds of hedge funds. He also represents registered and unregistered investment advisers to investment funds and the independent directors of public investment companies. He represents U.S. and non-U.S. broker-dealers in regulatory matters as well as banks in fiduciary and agency capacities. He has significant experience in the representation of commercial banks, mortgage bankers, and investment bankers.
Representative clients in recent matters include Citibank, Comerica, Invesco PowerShares Capital Management, the Nasdaq Stock Market, and State Street Corporation. Dave has advised on financings of MTN and CP programs for structured investment vehicles, a $2 billion commercial paper program for a special purpose vehicle of a commercial bank, the formation and ongoing operation of exchange traded funds, the review of investments by clients of a commercial bank in money market funds, and the review of investments in auction rate and other municipal securities by customers of a commercial bank.
Dave is a member of the ABA (Business Law and Taxation Sections), the New York State Bar Association, and the New Jersey State Bar Association. Dave regularly lectures on financial product matters, particularly with regard to developments related to exchange traded funds. He is also an adjunct professor at Fordham University Law School.
