Mr. Macey joined Nacht Law in September 2010 following two federal
clerkships. Mr. Macey clerked first for the Honorable David F.
Hamilton, then District Court judge in the Southern District of Indiana
and subsequently for the Honorable Eric L. Clay on the Sixth Circuit
Court of Appeals. He practices primarily in the area of employment law and civil rights law. Mr. Macey is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is admitted to practice in the Eastern District of Michigan, Western District of Michigan, and the Sixth Circuit.
Mr. Macey received his B.A. in history from Haverford College in 2002.
He received a J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law
School in 2008. During law school, Mr. Macey spent a year working as a
law clerk for the UAW legal department. Mr. Macey also participated in
the University's Advanced Clinical Law program, where he participated in
multiple Federal Civil Rights lawsuits. Prior to entering law school,
he worked at the Washtenaw County Friend of the Court and did freelance
sports writing.
Mr. Macey lives in Royal Oak with his wife and two daughters.
