MICHAEL J. MACCO, is a partner in the law firm of Macco & Stern, LLP,where he practices exclusively in the area of bankruptcy and insolvency law. In addition to representing individuals and corporations seeking bankruptcy relief, Mr. Macco has also represented financial institutions, banks, car refinance companies, various creditors as well as individual and corporate debtors and Trustees. He graduated with a B.A. degree from St. John's University and a J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School. Mr. Macco is the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee for the Eastern District of New York for approximately 26 years as well as the Chapter 12 Trustee for the Eastern District of New York. He is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association, where he formerly served as Chairman of the Bankruptcy Committee and the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar Association. Mr. Macco has lectured on bankruptcy and creditor issues before various professional organizations, including the New York County Lawyers Association, the Suffolk County and Nassau County bar associations, the Practicing Law Institute, the National Business Institute and the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees. Mr. Macco is a volunteer for the Suffolk County Pro Bono Association and the Assistance for Lawyers Program for the Suffolk County Bar Association.
