Ryan is an associate at MacGillis Wiemer, LLC and is a trial attorney. He focuses his practice on Criminal, Personal Injury, and Civil Litigation cases. Ryan is a graduate of the Marquette University Law School and received his undergraduate degree in communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Ryan has worked as a judicial intern with the Wisconsin Court of Appeals. He also worked with Marquette’s Volunteer Legal Clinic. Ryan assisted Marquette’s Public Interest Society to create the Service members and Veteran’s Legal Assistance of Wisconsin (“SAVLAW”) program. As a student volunteer, he assisted attorneys with providing legal advice to many veterans living in the Milwaukee area, and the families of current soldiers mobilizing or deployed overseas.
Ryan is also a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is a graduate of the Officer Candidate School and the Infantry Officer Basic Course. During his eight years in the Army, Ryan has worked as a Company Commander, Executive Officer, and he currently works as the Assistant Operations Officer for his Drill Sergeant Battalion. Ryan spent two years on active duty at Fort Benning, Georgia training soldiers new to the Army. While at Fort Benning, Ryan earned the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal for his work assisting teachers at the Wesley Heights Elementary School.
In his free time, Ryan enjoys fishing, scuba diving, weight lifting, and racquetball. He also enjoys traveling. During his time in the Army, Ryan visited South Africa, Tanzania, India, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Thailand, and Honduras. While in Africa, he taught English and Math to 4th grade students in a rural village.
