Whitworth, Stephen A.

Matt White is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn in 1990 with a degree in Business Administration with a specialty in Marketing. Matt earned his law degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 1994 and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar that same year. After graduating law school Matt served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Fifth Judicial Circuit of Alabama which includes Chambers, Tallapoosa, Macon and Randolph Counties. While working as an Assistant District Attorney Matt tried many cases to verdict and gained invaluable courtroom experience. In 1999, Matt and his family moved to Auburn and joined the firm of Walker, Hill, Adams, Umbach, Meadows and Walton and began practicing general civil litigation. Matt has been a partner in the Adams, Umbach, Davidson & White firm since its inception in 2002. Matt's practice focuses primarily on general litigation, including personal injury litigation, workers' compensation litigation, real estate litigation and construction litigation.

Matt is a member of the Alabama Bar Association and the Lee County Bar Association. Matt is admitted to practice law in the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama and all state courts.

Matt serves on the Alabama State Bar Committee for Quality of Life for Lawyers where he served as Chairperson from 2004 - 2006. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Lee County Red Cross from 2006 - 2010. Matt currently serves on the City of Auburn Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

Matt and his wife Angie have two children, Wiley and Brennan. They are members of the Auburn United Methodist Church. Matt and his family are active in many social and athletic endeavors. Matt enjoys coaching youth sports. Matt and his family especially enjoy frequent trips to the beach wherein they are avid inshore saltwater fishermen.
