Marshall White concentrates his practice in public and project finance, primarily focused on tax-advantaged financing and energy projects. He has been involved in the financing of hydroelectric generation plants, gas-fired electric generation, pipeline terminal and port facilities, off-shore oil drilling rigs, hospital and healthcare facilities, private schools and universities, and solid waste facilities, among many other types of projects.
Traditional governmental financings have included serving as bond counsel in the first state securitization of tobacco settlement revenue, underwriter's counsel in the redevelopment of the world's third largest cargo airport, and bond counsel or underwriter’s counsel in financings for state universities, community college districts, school districts, cities, counties, boroughs and tribal governments.
After law school Marshall served as an Assistant District Attorney in West Texas and, later, as senior counsel with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. In addition, Marshall was a partner with Dorsey & Whitney LLP.
Marshall maintains an active bond practice in Texas and Alaska, with clients including developers, lenders, underwriters, Indian tribes, local governments and nonprofit corporations.
