Lauren Waddell graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where she received a business degree with a double major, in Management and Economics. She received her law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, where she was a member of the South Texas Law Review. After graduating from law school, she immediately began practicing family law in a boutique firm in Houston. In 2008, Ms. Waddell formed The Waddell Law Firm, P.C., a focused, family law practice.
Ms. Waddell is actively involved in the legal organizations such as the Houston Bar Association, Family Law Section, Association of Women Attorneys; and Texas Women Lawyers. She participates in Continuing Legal Education courses, by speaking and writing materials for the legal seminars and publications. She has focused her legal practice to representing client in family law matters in Harris County and Fort Bend County, Texas. In 2007, she became Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and certified in 2012.
In addition to her legal activities, Ms. Waddell is active in the Houston community through her service projects. She is a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Junior Quarter Horse Committee (2005-2012); has enjoyed volunteering with and supporting SIRE, Houston Therapeutic Riding Centers; and has served the community through her participation with the Houston Bar Association on the Special Olympics Committee, the IDEA Committee, as well as volunteering her time to the HBA Legal Lines, which is a community project where people call in with legal questions for volunteer lawyers.
