Edward C. Vocke, IV, has represented a variety of clients in numerous areas of practice. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Vocke first worked under the guidance of Federal Judge Samuel Pointer. Mr. Vocke provided legal assistance to unrepresented claimants for Multi-District Litigation (MDL) 926, in re silicone gel breast implant litigation. After nearly four years on Claims Assistance Counsel, Mr. Vocke went to work as an Assistant District Attorney in Orleans Parish under then District Attorney Harry Connick, Sr. After more than 100 trials, including 30 jury trials, Mr. Vocke moved into private practice. Since 1998, Mr. Vocke has practiced insurance defense for property/casualty, medical malpractice defense, premises defense and helped run a real estate title company.
Immediately after Hurricane Katrina, Mr. Vocke practiced almost exclusively in hurricane litigations. First, Mr. Vocke appeared at mediations on behalf of a large insurer in Hurricane Rita mediations in the Lake Charles area. After approximately one year, Mr. Vocke returned to the New Orleans area, and began representing claimant homeowners in actions against their insurers, as a result of Hurricane Katrina. To date, Mr. Vocke has participated in approximately 500 mediations arising out of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav and Ike, and has successfully resolved more than 1,200 hurricane claims on behalf of his clients. Mr. Vocke has also resumed his diverse practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense, plantiff personal injury and defense of DWI/ traffic offenses.
