Rodney D. Vellinga is a partner with the firm. Rod attended the University of Iowa and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1967. After a two year stint with the U.S. Army, he attended the University of Iowa College of Law graduating in 1972. Prior to joining the firm, Rod served as a county prosecutor for 2 1/2 years and as a District Associate Judge for 4 1/2 years. He joined the firm in 1980.
Rod's practice is focused on general litigation including criminal defense, personal injury, worker's compensation, evictions, social security and domestic relations. Rod provides his clients representation in state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies.
Rod is a member of the Woodbury County, Iowa State Bar Association, Nebraska State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Rod and his wife, Cathy have two children. In his spare time he enjoys running and coaches youth track and cross-country teams.
