Teresa DeToma Van Vlake is a 1992 magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina and 1996 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. Mrs. VanVlake served as a judicial law clerk to the late Honorable B. Hicks Harwell, Jr., Judge of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit in Florence, South Carolina. After completing her clerkship, she spent the next twelve years of her career in prosecution. She worked as an assistant solicitor for five years and then became an assistant director of programs for the National District Attorneys Association where she created and presented trial advocacy programs across the country. As South Carolina's Traffic Safety Resource Prosecutor, she also trained state prosecutors and law enforcement on impaired driving issues for the South Carolina Commission on Prosecution. Mrs. Van Vlake began working in the area of default servicing in August 2010 for a large foreclosure firm in Columbia, South Carolina. She recently joined the Finkel firm when her family relocated to the Charleston area and practices in the foreclosure division.
