Jim is a partner in the firm and practices in the areas of real estate, commercial transactions, and business and real estate litigation. Jim's practice involves both negotiating, preparing, and analyzing various types of commercial real estate transactions including title, survey, financing and leasing for real estate clients including industrial, office, retail, apartments, condominiums, hotels, ranches and residential subdivisions as well as litigating cases in those areas when the need arises. Jim assists his clients with corporate structuring, including corporations, limited liability companies and partnership agreements and the litigation of those agreements. Jim advised clients in complex business planning, including business and real estate cooperative structuring, tax planning, buy-sell agreements, and franchise agreements. Jim also handles foreclosures and trustee's sales on behalf of lenders and practices in real estate and business related litigation on behalf of lenders, borrowers, landlords, tenants and business partners.
Jim received his B.S. degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Arizona State University in 1992. Jim earned his J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1995. Jim is a member of the State Bar of Arizona Real Property Section, the Corporation, Banking & Business Law Section, a member of the Arizona Trustee Association, and a member of the American Bar and Maricopa Bar Associations.
Jim and his wife, Jenny, have two children, Jarrod Landon and Jenna Layne. Jim enjoys many outdoor sports including scuba diving, cycling, fly fishing, and deep-sea fishing.
