Mr. Uhlar chose a career in law due to the different challenges and unique opportunities particular to each case. "Work as a litigator is seldom boring and usually rewarding", comments Mr. Uhlar. "I enjoy developing a game plan to serve the client's interests in both the short and long term - and then executing that game plan to achieve the client's desired result"
Mr. Uhlar has extensive experience in a wide range of personal and commercial litigation areas with special concentrations in automobile negligence, personal injury, and medical malpractice.
During his student days, Mr. Uhlar was a member of the William & Mary School of Law's ABA National Moot Court Team, volunteered for the William & Mary Public Service Fund, was appointed personal research assistant to William & Mary School of Law Dean Taylor Reveley, and contributed freelance articles to the Michigan Daily. As an attorney, he served as research attorney for Chief Judge Russell Fagg, Yellowstone County District Court, Billings, MT. Upon returning to Michigan, Mr. Uhlar was employed as a litigator in Legal Aid & Defender Association's Civil Division, where he regularly represented clients at trial in Michigan's 36th District Court. Before coming to Schwartz Law Firm, he also regularly represented Henry Ford Health System in complex circuit court litigation.
Mr. Uhlar has been a speaker at Detroit Elementary School parent workshops on Landlord/Tenant rights and How to Find Affordable Housing, and has also volunteered at Free Legal Aid Clinics at community senior centers in Livonia, Dearborn, and Riverview. A resident of Berkley, MI, he enjoys travel, tennis, football, any sport that involves a ball or large stick, and most things that occur outdoors.
