Dr. Chris Tsang's practice is primarily in the prosecution of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals patents. His practice also involves preparation of patent validity and noninfringement opinions, counseling on patent procurement strategy and portfolio management, and due diligence analysis for patent licensing and corporate transactions.

Chris worked at Pennie & Edmonds for 10 years prior to joining Jones Day in 2004. He has extensive experience in handling inventions in the field of molecular biology, drug discovery technologies, genomics, cancer therapeutics, antibiotics, vaccines, transgenic plants and animals, nutritional supplements, nanotechnology, and diagnostics for biopharmaceutical companies, universities, and research institutions. Chris has obtained key patents on novel technology platforms and developed the patent portfolios for several biotechnology companies in the United States, Canada, and Hong Kong.

Prior to practicing law, Chris was a postdoctoral fellow at Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the New York Intellectual Property Law Association. Chris is fluent in Chinese.
