Marilyn, a 2012 graduate of the University of South Dakota School of Law, participated on the Trial Team and received Dean's Certificate Performance Awards in Insurance, Elder Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Legal Profession. Her return to law school followed an eighteen-year career as a Human Resources Manager where she worked in both manufacturing and service-based environments. As a Human Resources Consultant, Marilyn has drafted and revised employment policies and procedures for numerous businesses. She analyzes benefits documents for attorneys involved in ERISA subrogation litigation. Marilyn has published several articles in Trial Lawyer journals on the topic of ERISA subrogation with her lead article in South Dakota Law Review, Volume 58, Why All or Nothing? A Middle Ground for Subrogation Law Will Protect South Dakota's Insureds. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Certified Mediator, and holds an MPA degree from Brigham Young University. As a member of the SD Bar Association, Marilyn is dedicated to conducting effective compliance audits and helping our clients navigate the complexities of current employment laws. She also assists in the practice areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, subrogation, elder law, and employment law. Marilyn is married and has three daughters.
