Roy D. Tritt is a native of San Diego, California, and a graduate of the University of Georgia cum laude with general honors and the University of Georgia Law School, also with honors, where he was senior editor of the Georgia Law Review. After eight years in the accounting and finance profession, he began his legal career with the firm of Nixon, Yow, Waller & Capers and has practiced law in Augusta continuously since then, from 1984 from his present office in Columbia County. He has served on numerous charitable and civic boards and is the past Treasurer of the Augusta Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia, Younger Lawyers Section. He is a currently a Director of the Homebuilders Association of Metro Augusta. He is a past Director of the Exchange Club of Richmond County, Richmond County Historical Society and the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He is a past President of the Exchange Club of Richmond County and the Richmond County Historical Society. He is a past Chairman of the Legal Economics Section State Bar of Georgia, and was the Chairman of the Title Standards Revision Committee of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia and a Member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Law Section.
