Mr. Treece has over 26 years of experience representing individuals, financial institutions, and businesses in virtually every kind of bankruptcy matter for both debtors and creditors. He has focused on the representation of businesses in Chapter 11 and out-of-court workouts, including entities involved in the operation of hotels, trucking, apartment complexes, and retail stores, as well as creditor work, primarily for financial institutions. Mr. Treece also has a substantial foreclosure and collection practice for financial institutions and has actively participated in the defense of multiple lender liability actions. In addition, he has litigation experience in bankruptcy matters, including prosecuting and defending matters related to discharge and dischargeability, avoidable transfers, plan confirmation, and claims allowance.
In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Mr. Treece has represented numerous clients in a variety of real estate transactions and in land use planning matters before municipal commissions and boards, as well as in various types of real estate and land use litigation.
Mr. Treece is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® in the areas of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law and Litigation – Bankruptcy. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Debtor/Creditor Bar of Central Arkansas, and is a frequent seminar speaker to numerous groups including attorneys, bankers, and bank examiners on topics arising in bankruptcy, debtor/creditor rights, and secured transactions.
Mr. Treece is licensed to practice law in the states of Arkansas and Missouri, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, and the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
