Ken Krupsky advises global clients on all aspects of US and international tax law, including planning, negotiation and documentation of complex business transactions, representation in difficult administrative proceedings and litigation against US and foreign taxing authorities, and advice on significant tax policy matters. His recent industry experience includes aeronautics, automotive, banking and finance, consumer products, electronics, energy and natural resources, information services, insurance, internet, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, utilities, and venture capital.
Ken was lead tax counsel to R.J. Reynolds in its acquisition of Brown & Williamson for $3 billion, Edison International in its global sales of power generation assets for $3 billion, Timken in its $840 million purchase of Ingersoll-Rand's global bearings business, and Foster's in its $1.2 billion acquisition of Beringer Wine. He also regularly advises other clients such as Alfa Finance, Altimo, Bongrain, Diebold, Harsco, Mattel, Riverside Company, Tesoro Petroleum, and WL Ross.
Ken served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Tax Policy in President Clinton's second term. He was chair of the International Tax Committee of the District of Columbia Bar Association and an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member of Tax Management International Journal's "Panel of Leading Practitioners" and regularly contributes to that journal. His other publications include: "Corporate Bankruptcy" (coauthor), 790 Tax Management Portfolio (2004); "Application of Section 482 to International Joint Ventures," 890 Tax Management Portfolio (2001); Joint Ventures with International Partners (coauthor, Butterworth 1994); and International Joint Ventures (coauthor, Federal Publications 1986; 2d ed. 1988).
