Ms. Tinero has been exclusively practicing Family Law for the past 23 years. Ellen is dedicated to providing personal service to her clients and has earned a reputation for resolving difficult and high conflict cases throughout her legal career. Ms. Tinero attended UCLA and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Throughout her undergraduate years of college, Ms. Tinero worked at several prominent Family Law firms in Beverly Hills and Century City and realized her passion for the law and, more specifically, the area of Family Law.

Ellen attended the University of West Los Angeles School of Law and graduated Valedictorian of her class. During Law School, Ms. Tinero was on the Dean’s list and earned several prestigious honors including the Bernard Jefferson Evidence Award and Book Awards in Family Law and Torts for academic excellence.

Upon graduating from Law School and passing the Bar in 1989, Ellen was offered an associate position at her Family Law professor’s firm and became his protege. Ms. Tinero handled all aspects of Family Law matters including complex litigation, negotiation and settlement.

With encouragement from her professor, Ellen ventured out and began her own Family Law practice. Over the past 23 years, she has honed her skills both inside and outside of Court for a wide range of clients. She enjoys working closely with her clients while assisting them to reach the best possible result in their matter.

Ms. Tinero has completed an intensive 60 Hour Family Law Mediation Training program. Ellen strongly believes in the power and value of good negotiation techniques and strives to reach settlements which benefit her clients and their children, while protecting their assets for the future.

As a certified Family Law Mediator, Ellen serves as a Mediator for the Central and branch Courts of the Los Angeles Superior Court system, including Van Nuys and San Fernando. Ms. Tinero was appointed to the Panel for the Los Angeles Superior Court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program. Ellen is one of the few Family Law Attorneys on the ADR panel and has been assigned by the Family Law Courts in over 100 matters through the ADR and Court mediation programs. Ms. Tinero has been commended by many Judicial Officers and her fellow attorneys for the skill and effectiveness that she has brought to resolving extremely difficult, long-standing cases with which she has been presented.

Further, Ms. Tinero has served as a Judge Pro Tem and is a Settlement Officer and certified Minor’s Counsel for the Los Angeles Superior Courts. Ellen also serves as an Arbitrator for the Los Angeles County Bar Association Attorney-Client Fee Dispute panel. Ellen is a member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association and has served as Co-Chair for the San Fernando Family Law Section and Executive Committee. Ms. Tinero has been on panels for the San Fernando Valley Bar Association Family Law Section with Judicial Officers regarding Domestic Violence and Child Custody matters. Recently, Ellen was honored by her peers and the Family Law Judicial Officers, by being selected as a 2011, 2012 & 2013 SuperLawyer for Southern California. Ms. Tinero is happily married for nearly 25 years and has two children.
